Joanna Carrick’s play The Ungodly about the origin story of the witch hunts that spread through England and America from 1645 is heading to New York off Broadway from 24 April – 11 May, but before the show heads stateside it returns to Ipswich to The Avenue Theatre from the 4th – 5th April.
There will be three special fund raising performances on 4th and 5th April at 7.30pm and a 2.30pm matinee on the 5th.

In the remote village of Mistley, Susan Edwards, step-sister of self-proclaimed Witchfinder General Matthew Hopkins, has a choice to make. Does she remain rational in a community torn apart by fear, intolerance, and hysteria or become seduced by the idea that her baby’s death was caused by witches controlled by Satan?
