From the working-class town of Sheffield, he overcomes bullying and prejudice to pursue his dream of becoming a drag queen. Uncertain about his future, Jamie knows one thing for sure – he’s going to be a sensation. Supported by his loving mother and friends, the story explores themes of self-expression, acceptance, bullying and finding your own path.

Ipswich Gilbert and Sullivan Society’s new production of this classic comic opera combines tradition – all the famous songs are featured, including: Poor Wand’ring One, I Am The Very Model of a Modern Major General, and A Policeman’s Lot Is Not a Happy One – with a novel 20th Century piratical twist!
