Glitch – The True Story of the Post Office Scandal

A new play about the post office scandal, Glitch – The True Story of the Post Office Scandal, is headed to Theatre Royal, Bury St Edmunds on 10th and 11th February and The New Wolsey Theatre, Ipswich on 13th and 14th February as part of a national tour.

The play has been created with sub-postmistress Pam Stubbs, who worked tirelessly to prove not just her own innocence in the Horizon scandal, but that of thousands of others.

Joanne Howarth, who plays, Pam Stubbs, the heroine of the story, started her career at The New Wolsey, having got her first breaks in the theatre, working with Andy Breakwell in the TIE company and Anthony (Dick) Tuckey in As You Like It, as well as several more plays in the late Eighties.

Naveed Khan is also looking forward to returning to The New Wolsey Theatre, having starred in the theatre’s Potcairn back in 2017. Naveed will be playing the roles of David, Daljit, Green and Sir Alan Bates.

Playing Nora, Tracey Felstead, Jan and Justice Fraser is Laura Penneycard, whose family live locally and whose early experiences at The New Wolsey strongly influenced her career direction.

Sabina Netherclift, will be playing the roles of Kay Linnell, Swift, Hilary and others. Sabina has been part of RABBLE for many years, as performer, movement director, director and GUOS teacher.

Glitch is written by Berkshire’s Zannah Kearns and directed by RABBLE associate artist, Gareth Taylor who has also enjoyed time at The New Wolsey with the acclaimed Curious Directive, of which he is a founding director. Set and costume design is by Caitlin Abbot. Dramaturgy is by local writer and RABBLE associate artist and Beth Flintoff who is also associate playwright at the Royal Court Theatre. Sound and Music Composition is by RABBLE Associate Artist, Benjamin Hudson whilst lighting design from Oliver Welsh.
