We’re Backing The Bid – Ipswich City of Culture 2029

By

Suffolk Theatre Website is backing the bid for Ipswich to be the City of Culture in 2029 and we’re calling on YOU to help back the bid too.

There’s just a month to go before Ipswich must submit an Expression on Interest and apply to be City of Culture in 2029 and we want to get the whole town on board. This would be an amazing opportunity to showcase how creative we are in arts, culture, music, theatre, literature, dance, crafts, history, heritage, libraries, museums, galleries, media, photography – the list is endless – and Ipswich is ready for the challenge.

You can find out more about what the bid entails here but what we really need is as many people and local organisations as possible to back the bid by pledging your support and by filling in this short survey here.

Lot’s of people are backing the bid including Ipswich MP Jack Abbott who said, “This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to show the country what Ipswich is made of.”

Mark Ashton, Chairman at Ipswich Town FC said, “This is an opportunity to highlight everything that is good about Ipswich. It’s something we can all fully get behind.”

And lots of organisations such as Ipswich.Love , Ipswich.co.uk and The Ipswich Star are also backing the bid.
