An Evening with Russell Maliphant Friday 14th March 7.30pm
Award-winning choreographer, Russell Maliphant, returns to DanceEast with a brand-new solo. This contemporary dance piece promises to be a visual feast of movement and light, developed with Panagiotis Tomaras (visual artist) and a musical world created especially for the show by long time collaborative partner Dana Fouras (composer).
Maliphant’s performance will be followed by two artfully created short films specifically made and shown for this medium.
Following the films, there will be a conversation with Russell, where questions will be encouraged from the audience, so you can delve into his creative process and get to know him a little better.

U. Dance Saturday 22nd March 7.00pm
The U.Dance Regional Platforms provide youth groups from all over the Eastern Region with the opportunity to come together to perform, celebrate dance, and showcase their talent. We are honoured to host the platform for the East of England at DanceEast.
This is a great opportunity to watch young dancers perform, with the chance of being selected to perform at U.Dance National Festival, presented by One Dance UK.

Gorilla Circus/RPM Friday 28 & Saturday 29 March 7.30pm
A high-octane new show combining exhilarating acrobatics and dance, RPM explores the tragic, comic and absurd aspects of modern society, unravelling untold links between current problems and the UK’s troubled history – it asks the question: has this country ever confronted it’s colonial past?
Gorilla Circus is a contemporary circus company specialising in imaginative works with strong narratives surrounding global issues

After the performance of RPM on Saturday 29 March, DanceEast are excited to welcome DJ Cat Dreams to the DanceHouse to spin some groovy tunes to enjoy after the show! Expect uplifting danceable tunes, from disco, pop and post-punk, to soul, trip-hop and more.
