Two Ipswich Dance Organisations Join Forces To Get Ipswich Dancing

By

DanceEast and Ipswich School of Dancing invite everyone to get dancing with the rest of the UK on Sunday 2 March, as part of the Let’s Dance national campaign. Initiated by Angela Rippon, Let’s Dance aims to inspire everyone in the UK to embrace dance to improve health, connect with others, and have fun. Their mission is to get more people dancing together, regardless of age, fitness level, or experience.

Both DanceEast and Ipswich School of Dancing will be throwing their doors open between 9.15am -3.00pm for anyone to take part in free workshops, meet the teams, and enjoy some refreshments. From Ballroom to Ballet, Hip Hop to Contemporary, you can choose to get involved in just one workshop or, if you’re feeling adventurous, try them all.

At DanceEast, activities will take place at the Jerwood DanceHouse on Ipswich waterfront. You can take a tour of their world-class building, including a glimpse inside their studio theatre.

Daisy Wyatt, Programme Manager, said,’ We are so excited to welcome new faces to DanceEast and share the magic of movement at Let’s Dance! Ipswich. Join us for a variety of dance workshops led by our wonderful DanceEast tutors, explore what we do, and be part of this unforgettable event. We can’t wait to dance with you!’

Ipswich School of Dance’s studio on Bond Street, Ipswich, will be open for you to find out all about the world of Ballroom and Latin, as well as finding out more about the opportunities for classes, competitions and shows.

Emma Hawley, a partner of Ipswich School of Dancing, said, ‘We’re thrilled to be working alongside DanceEast once again as part of the Let’s Dance! campaign. It’s a fantastic opportunity to bring people together through the sheer joy of dance. Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced dancer, there’s something for everyone. Our goal is to inspire the Ipswich community to embrace dance as a fun and fulfilling activity, while celebrating the vibrant dance culture we have here. To top it all off, we’ll be showcasing all of the talent and fun on Dance TV, sharing the energy and excitement of the day with a wider audience. We can’t wait to welcome everyone and share the joy of movement together!’

This joyous day of dance ends with a Let’s Dance Ipswich! The finale, which takes place at Ipswich School of Dancing at 2.00pm where you can learn some simple choreography and perform live for the nation on Dance TV.
