Quay Productions and Pelham Elliott productions are thrilled to be joining forces once again to bring the classic Noel Coward comedy of manners  Relative Values to The Quay Theatre in Sudbury from 14th to 16th November 2024.

There is trouble at Marshwood House as Nigel, the Earl, arrives back home with his intended bride – the American movie star Miranda Frayle. How will his mother Felicity react to the prospect of such a daughter-in-law? And why is her personal maid, Moxie, threatening to leave at the mere idea of the new Countess? What of Miranda’s former flame, Hollywood star, Don Lucas, who suddenly arrives during dinner?  Perhaps the Jeeves-like butler Crestwell will be able to save the day!

When first presented to the public in 1951 its success showed that “the master” had not lost his touch – the dialogue sparkles with witty one-liners and features a delightful array of characters trying to make the best of very unusual and funny circumstances.

Pelham Elliott director of Relative Values is a Suffolk based actor, director and writer. He says that the play is still amusing today for its witty dialogue and the way in which the film stars and their publicists, and even the English upper-classes, don’t show their true selves to those outside their own circles.

The production is a fundraiser for The Quay Theatre.

Tickets can be bought via The Quay Website or via the Box Office on 01787 374745
