A new musical, The Highwayman, has been written by Bury St Edmunds playwright Kitty Morgan and produced by OVO Theatre and Norwich Theatre to a fantastically high standard. It is an emotional drama telling the doomed love affair between Highwayman Duval and Suffolk Bar Maid Bess, inspired by Alfred Noyes’ poem of the same title. Filled with murders, crime, love and loss, this musical is destined to be on the West End and those who will have seen it on its first tour (at Theatre Royal from 2-5 October), certainly won’t forget this fantastic production.
